Introduction

In 2019, we saw an opportunity to showcase Xavier University through the eyes of the students. Rather than relying solely on traditional marketing and statistics, we wanted to capture authentic student voices and experiences that reflected daily life on campus. We created a campaign inviting students to share their stories using #XUALLFORONE, paired with a new landing page and Instagram presence to bring their experiences to life.

My Role

I collaborated closely with our Marketing and Communications team to plan and execute the campaign. I organized and directed a photoshoot to capture genuine student moments for the new website and coordinated the social media rollout to encourage participation and engagement. I also helped translate this campaign into web and digital touchpoints, ensuring the content aligned with our larger brand and enrollment goals.

The Challenge

We recognized the need for more authentic, student-driven storytelling and a way to show campus life through real voices rather than polished marketing. The goal was to create content that felt genuine, relatable, and community-driven, giving prospective students a window into daily life at Xavier. By encouraging user-generated content and amplifying student stories, we aimed to strengthen connection and engagement across social platforms in a more human and meaningful way.

Note: This project was unfortunately paused during the COVID-19 pandemic. With students off campus and university-wide budget cuts, the initiative couldn’t continue as planned. Still, the concept and creative direction were well received, and the assets we created became a valuable foundation for future storytelling and virtual engagement.

Final Design

Showcasing real students, real stories, and real campus life

The final design brought the campaign to life through an engaging, student-first experience. The page showcased real Xavier students as campus influencers, featuring authentic portraits, personal stories, and direct links to follow their journeys on social media.

The layout was intentionally light and modern, using bold photography and Xavier’s brand colors to create an approachable yet polished look. A dynamic social feed highlighted the #XUALLFORONE hashtag in action, reinforcing the campaign’s sense of community and encouraging participation.

The result was a site that felt genuine, aspirational, and deeply tied to the Xavier student experience, giving prospective students a true glimpse of campus life through the voices of their peers.

Wearing Both Hats: Designer and Photographer

This project gave me a chance to merge design and photography - capturing genuine student portraits that radiated Xavier spirit. Paired with user-submitted photos and posts this campaign was brought to life with authenticity and heart.
